_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Vocal Workshops A MID-WINTER RECITAL JULY 2005
The Mid-Winter Recital 2005 was held in the West Recital Hall at the Sydney Conservatorium from the 11 - 16 July. 50 exceptionally talented vocalists aged between 14 and 19 years were selected to take part in this workshop. Three public performances were the culmination of an intensive five days of musical and language coaching, during which, students had the opportunity to work both individually and as an ensemble with some of Australia's finest musicians and creatives. The workshop participants performed a combination of Italian, French, German and English Art Song, appropriate for their age and vocal development. Every participant performed part of or a complete solo art song. Participants also performed in duets or small ensembles and were all part the two Gilbert and Sullivan Finales directed by guest tutor Mr Stuart Maunder. The Mid-Winter Recital offered a leadership team of the highest standing in the field whose talent, expertise and energy made the week such a valuable experience for the students. Musical coaches included Sharolyn Kimmorley, Fiona McCabe, Nicole Dorigo, Elisabeth Pillgrab, Tim Collins, Gem Harding, Gavin Lockley, Ingrid Sakarovs, Edith Podesta and our guest tutors Stuart Maunder and Michael Black from Opera Australia. Alexander Productions would like to congratulate all performers on a wonderful recital. DVD's of A Mid-Winter Recital July 2005 are available to purchase.
