Vocal Workshops INTERNATIONAL TALLIS SCHOLARS SUMMER SCHOOL JANUARY 21 -28, 2007 ST JOHN'S COLLEGE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA The Tallis Scholars have established themselves as leading exponents of Renaissance sacred music through world-class recordings and concert performances. Their exploration of the depth and variety of this repertoire has reached a world-wide audience. For the first time in Australia, the Tallis Scholars will be holding their acclaimed Summer School in January, 2007 at St John’s College, University of Sydney. Join us for an exhilarating week of music making immersed in glorious renaissance choral music with Peter Phillips and members of the Tallis Scholars. The beautiful campus setting of St John's College at the University of Sydney, Australia, provides a delightful backdrop for this rich musical experience. TSSS is dedicated to exploring our great heritage of renaissance choral music, and to developing a performance style appropriate to it, as pioneered by the Tallis Scholars. The course is open to singers of all nationalities with good sight-reading skills, aged 16 and over. We work on concert and service repertoire in a myriad of small and medium sized groups, with opportunities to set up your own groups, and to try new repertoire. TSSS is an intensive singing experience - and enormous fun too! Age category: 16 years and above. However, choral students of exceptional ability who are younger than 16 years of age will also be considered. Activities: Repertoire: For the small groups work, do bring any favorite music you’d like to work on (NB: bring the right number of copies as we cannot photocopy copyright material).
